Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 19, 2026

1. Introduction

SlickPrompts (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the SlickPrompts platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our services. By using SlickPrompts, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: email address, username, and password when you register.
  • Profile information: avatar, bio, and other optional details you add to your profile.
  • Content: threads, replies, prompts, images, videos, and other materials you post.
  • Messages: private messages sent through our messaging feature.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: pages viewed, threads visited, features used, and interaction patterns.
  • Device information: browser type, operating system, and screen resolution.
  • View tracking: we track thread views for analytics purposes. For logged-in users, views are associated with your account. For anonymous visitors, we use a locally-stored anonymous identifier or IP address solely for deduplication.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see the Cookies and Tracking section below.

2A. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, localStorage, and similar technologies to run the site and, with your permission, to understand how it is used.

Strictly necessary (always on)

  • Authentication cookies (Supabase): keep you signed in and protect against CSRF.
  • UI preferences (localStorage): remember settings like theme, thread page size, and view mode.
  • Consent record (localStorage): stores your cookie-preference choice so we don't re-prompt you on every visit.

Product analytics (requires your consent)

  • PostHog: page views, clicks and form submits (excluding text you type), and unhandled errors. Data is processed in the United States. Used to measure feature adoption, diagnose bugs, and improve the product.
  • Vercel Analytics: aggregated, cookieless page-view and performance metrics.

Analytics are disabled by default until you choose "Accept all" in the consent banner. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out of non-essential tracking and do not load analytics, regardless of any banner interaction.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To opt out of analytics, click "Reject all" in the consent banner, turn off "Product analytics" under "Cookie preferences," or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the platform.
  • To authenticate your identity and manage your account.
  • To display your content and enable community interactions.
  • To send notifications about activity relevant to you (replies, messages, kudos).
  • To monitor and enforce our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
  • To generate aggregate, anonymized analytics to improve the platform.
  • To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Public content: threads, replies, and profile information you choose to make public are visible to all visitors.
  • Service providers: we use trusted third-party services for hosting, storage, and email delivery. These providers only access data necessary to perform their functions.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
  • Safety: we may share information to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Content you post remains on the platform unless you delete it or request its removal. Deleted content may be retained in backups for a limited period. Anonymous view tracking data is retained for analytics purposes and is not linked to identifiable individuals.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information on your profile.
  • Delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
  • Export your content and data upon request.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@slickprompts.com.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission, secure authentication, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

SlickPrompts is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the platform or sending you an email. Your continued use of SlickPrompts after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
